Funky Chicken is a real-time, simultaneous-play party card game for 3-6 players. Each player has a 12-card deck of dance actions (Bump, Swing, Spin, Funky Chicken). On 'Go,' everyone flips and shouts their top action; matching pairs come together to perform the move and discard. First to empty their deck wins the game in roughly 2 minutes.

How to Play Funky Chicken

Setup

1. Each player picks a color and takes the 12-card deck of that color.

2. Players hold their stack face-down.

3. On a count of three, every player simultaneously flips their stack face-up.

Play (real-time, simultaneous)

• Every player loudly calls out the action shown on their top card.

• The four actions:

  • Bump: hip-bump each other.
  • Swing: lock elbows and swing in a circle.
  • Spin: each player turns once in place.
  • Funky Chicken: tuck hands into armpits, flap, and shout 'SOOO FUNKY!'

• As soon as any two players hear they share the same action, they immediately come together and perform the action.

• After completing the action, both players discard that card and reveal their next.

• If your top card has no current match in the room, move it to the bottom of your stack and try the next.

End condition

The first player to empty their hand shouts 'Winner, winner, chicken dinner!' and ends the game.

Combine with Happy Salmon

Funky Chicken decks can be mixed with Happy Salmon decks for up to 12 players, blending both games' dance actions.
