A player who finishes fifth every single time is perfectly consistent. Never use it alone.
How it works
Consistency Score measures the inverse of your placement variance. Players with tightly clustered finishes rank higher than those who oscillate between brilliance and disaster.
How it works: Calculate the variance (or standard deviation) of all your placements, then invert it. A player who always finishes 2nd or 3rd scores higher than one who alternates between 1st and last.
When to use it: When you value reliability over flash. Treat it as a secondary comparison column next to a placement, win, or score method -- the useful question is who is both strong and consistent.
Watch out for: Measures steadiness, not strength. A player who finishes 5th every game can outrank a player who alternates between 1st and 3rd because the variance is lower. Do not use this as a standalone "who is best" leaderboard.
