The trophy case and the headlines — a bragging-rights board, and a good one.
Where it misleads
As a primary ranking it is a museum piece: a run from a year ago outranks a current one, and playing more gives more chances to build a streak.
How it works
Longest Win Streak tracks the maximum number of consecutive wins a player has achieved across all matches. It's the ultimate momentum stat and a natural bragging-rights metric.
How it works: Walk through each player's match history in chronological order. Count consecutive 1st-place finishes (or wins in 1v1). Track the longest unbroken chain. A player who won 8 in a row at some point holds an 8-streak, even if they lost before and after.
When to use it: For any group that loves talking about hot streaks and clutch runs. It's especially exciting in 1v1 contexts where winning streaks are easy to understand and deeply felt. Great as a secondary stat alongside a performance-based ranking.
Watch out for: Rewards historical peaks, not current form. A player whose 12-game streak was months ago will forever outrank someone on a current 6-game streak. Consider pairing with Current Win Streak for a fuller picture. Also favors players who've played more matches (more chances to build streaks).
