Where it misleads
Someone with two brilliant matches tops the table. Set a minimum before it means anything.
How it works
Points Per Match divides total placement points by matches played. It measures efficiency -- how well you perform relative to your participation level.
How it works: Calculate placement points as usual, then divide by total matches. A player who earned 30 points in 5 matches (6.0 PPM) ranks higher than one who earned 40 in 10 matches (4.0 PPM).
When to use it: When players have drastically different participation levels and you want to compare them fairly. It removes the participation advantage/disadvantage from the equation.
Watch out for: Players with very few matches may have misleadingly high efficiency. Consider requiring a minimum match count for eligibility.
