Activity Bonus Points

Placement points plus a flat bonus for every match played, so turning up is worth something on its own.

placement_points + (bonus × matches_played)

Best at

Social groups who want the every-week regular to stay competitive with the occasional visiting shark.

Where it misleads

The bonus needs tuning: too high and it becomes an attendance register.

How it works

Activity Bonus combines placement points with a configurable bonus for each match played. It rewards both performance and participation.

How it works: Total = placement_points + (bonus_per_match × matches_played). With the default 2-point bonus, each match played adds 2 points regardless of performance, plus whatever placement points you earned.

When to use it: Perfect for casual groups and social game nights where you want to encourage attendance. It ensures that the player who shows up every week but doesn't always win can still compete with the occasional but dominant player.

Watch out for: The bonus value needs tuning for your group. Too high and attendance trumps performance; too low and it doesn't serve its purpose.
